Vibha Tripathi

Dr Vibha Tripathi is the MD & Co-founder of Swajal. Dr. Tripathi is a graduate and PhD from IIT Kanpur. Prior to starting the Saurya Foundation that works with Swajal, she was working at the electrical engineering department at IIT (K). Dr. Tripathi specializes on the research and development of thin film solar cells and has held a number of workshops and seminars in the field of renewable energy. She has also guided many students in R&D of solar cells. Under her supervision, IIT Kanpur developed expertise in flexible organic solar cells, a unique idea which has a potential to be a disruptive technology.

Dr. Tripathi has been working in solar for over  15 years   and her research and academia focused background has allowed Saurya to focus on what matters the most in Solar Energy; making it more accessible. "SWAJAL" - A SMART SOLAR WATER PURIFICATION is an innovative concept developed by VS Saurya EnerTech Pvt. Ltd., an ISO 9001 certified company incorporated in 2009, by senior technologists to provide services and products in the area of solar and clean technologies by developing Solar based smart solar purification machines.

Saurya EnerTech has a team of Solar and Water experts from the Academia and the Government. The team specialises in handling design and engineering services.  In view of the fact that clean drinking water is a basic right, Swajal has developed solar based water purification machines of different capacities.

 

Vinayak Lohani

Vinayak Lohani is the founder of Parivaar, an organization which runs a free residential institution for destitute children in West Bengal. Vinayak started Parivaar immediately after he completed his MBA from IIM Calcutta in 2003. As of November 2014, the institution houses 965 children, of whom 672 are boys and by 2017, the capacity is slated to reach 2000.

Also an IIT graduate, Vinayak sacrificed a lucrative career and chose to work at the grassroots level for the overall development of destitute children. Inspired by the spiritual and humanistic ideals of Swami Vivekananda, he began his Parivaar journey with just three children and limited resources in a small rented building.

Several case studies on grassroots Social Entrepreneurship and Organization-building have been written on Vinayak and Parivaar, and taught at various business schools in India.

In 2011, Government of India's Ministry of Women and Child Development invited him to be a member of the Ministry's Working Group towards the Twelfth Five Year Plan, one of the very few from the Non-Governmental / civil society sector who was bestowed this honour.

Sumit Singh Gandhi

Sumit Singh Gandhi is the Founder of Sounds of Silence Foundation, India's first technology based NGO, empowering hearing impaired individuals overcome the barriers of communication.

Sumit is from Harvard Business School (SPM) and also a Stanford Dhirubhai Ambani Scholor . He has completed his MBA from the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research and also holds a Master of Information Technology degree from Virginia Tech.

Sumit is a visiting /guest Faculty at IIM Indore, IIT Bombay, JBIMS and SPJAIN Mumbai.

As a TED Speaker Sumit has inspired young minds across India with how simple ideas can create huge impact.

Gloria Benny

Gloria Benny is Co-founder and Director of Research and Impact Evaluation team in Make A Difference; an organization of young leaders working towards ensuring better outcomes for children living in orphanages and street shelters across 23 cities in India.

Gloria is a champion for children. Her teaching experiences and the first few children she interacted with fuelled her belief that providing and improving long-term opportunities for vulnerable children can massively improve the socio-economic fabric of India. She dreams of a time when every community is willing and empowered to support its most vulnerable - its children.

Narendra Kothari

Narendra Kothari, presently CMD in NMDC Limited, a Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise, under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India was born in the year 1955. Mr Kothari graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from prestigious Malviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur (Rajasthan University) in the year 1977.

He started his career with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) at Durgapur Steel Plant. After enriching experience to his credit, in various capacities, in various steel plants of SAIL particularly in Bhilai Steel Plant and Corporate office, he was elevated as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IISCO steel plant, Burnpur.

He has got wide spectrum of experience in the fields of plant operation, project execution and vigilance besides company matters of business and administration. During his tenure at SAIL, he has brought a lot of accolades to the organization by his able leadership qualities and administrative skills. NMDC is all set to achieve a new height in his able guidance and will be benefitted by his rich experience of iron and steel industry.
