Nawal Agrawal

Nawal Agrawal is Founder and Director of Get Up for Change (RTI Anonymous).

His journey as a change agent started when out of his sheer interest in policy making, he tried to find out the reasons behind an over-bridge remaining under construction for over 30 years. He filed a series of RTI applications and soon after that started receiving threatening calls. He thus realized the need of anonymity in RTI applications and founded Getup4change with his friends to facilitate people in filing RTI applications online remaining anonymous. After filing various RTI applications and first and second appeals to get suitable replies, he realized the need of making Central Information Commission (CIC) more efficient and worked through Rakshak foundation to make CIC more effective and published a paper based on his internship.

RTI Anonymous is an online service, through which, any Indian citizen can File Right to Information (RTI) Applications Anonymously. They DO NOT HAVE TO REVEAL THEIR IDENTITY. The RTI Anonymous Community will file those RTI Applications in their name and upload the documents obtained as a reply on this website. The original requester will get an email when this happens. The original requester just has to draft the RTI Application as much as he/she can and the RTI Anonymous community will take care of the rest. Till date it has filed more than 1000 applications and has some great success stories on its name.
